JUNE UPDATE

This is an exciting time for all concerned with the security situation in Latin America especially us at ASCF. FARC is on the run, with even its most influential supporter, Venezuelan strong-man Hugo Chávez, calling on the narco-terrorists to lay down their arms. Yet there has been a major setback as protectionist-minded Democrats have put the all-important Colombia Free Trade Agreement on permanent hold.

The internship program has been completely revamped to bring in the brightest young people who will contribute to our written and web-based material, including original articles and daily news roundups. We hope you have enjoyed the recent improvements and additions.

The ASCF has also enlisted the expertise of  Virginia Contreras, former Venezuelan Ambassador to the OAS. Board members Dan Corrigan and Col. Lee Rivas (U.S. Army, ret.) have also joined our team. Col. Rivas spent much of his military career in Latin America.

Meanwhile, production of our second documentary, Crisis in the Americas II, continues on schedule. Check back regularly for more updates.

We at the ASCF are determined to keep you informed of the security developments taking place around the world.
